I'm still reading for Fall! Looking for short/flash works of fiction, narrative nonfiction, and poetry that are both personal and connect with the wider world, something only you could write. While there is no theme, here are some questions to think about: interactions between humans and wilder areas and/or animals; changes in the world; how we relate to one another; food and various meanings; or? Star 82 Review Issue 8.3 is now available for your reading and viewing pleasure! It is a little wistful, but also shows a fighting spirit and moments of joy in the midst of disruption. There are some really lovely artworks by Bonnie Barrett (pinhole camera pictures); Geonni Banner (scanner art); and Robbin Ami Silverberg (artist's books and objects). In the themed section this issue takes on the idea of "getaway/get away," which brought out a variety of responses from the accepted contributors. Enjoy! Every year Vestal Review calls for nominations from editors for one work of fiction under 500 words for their flash fiction award, the VERA . It's never easy to choose, and remember, I love you all. As an editor, I am allowed to nominate one flash fiction each year to submit for consideration for the VERAs, the award from Vestal Review . Star 82 Review 's nomination for work from 2018 (issues 6.1 - 6.4) is Ona Siporin's "The Angels' Day Job."  I just received news that it is a semi-finalist and will be forwarded to the finals.
