I am pleased to finally announce the winning manuscript from the chapbook contest is now an available  book! Star 82 Press presents Heikki Huotari's prose poems, Déjà Vu Goes Both Ways,  with a wonderful color painting by Kay Bradner on the cover, and several lovely drypoints and ink drawings within. As I read the manuscript, I was delighted by the twists of common phrases and found my mind expanding. Huotari playfully turns clichés on their heads while poking fun at what could be serious situations and relatable heartfelt emotions. Some changes happened in the *82 Review Submittable plan, which have since been resolved, but just to make sure that we can keep submissions free, I've switched over to an email submission plan. The Submittable portal remains open for now, and is still accepting chapbook submissions for Star 82 Press  until 31 August 2020. I'm excited about the manuscripts that have been coming in and looking forward to reading all of them carefully. Meanwhile, the guidelines for regular submissions are on the Star 82 Review web page , as they have always been. Everything else about publication remains the same; I am committed to this independent, high-quality print and online magazine, now in our eighth year. Issue 8.3 in in progress, and I'm reading for 8.4 (publication date: December). Thanks for reading and sending your excellent art and writing!

In addition to always reading for future issues, this editor has opened up a call for manuscripts under the imprint Star 82 Press. See the Submittable page for all the info. Meanwhile, here is a peek at the cover for the upcoming fall issue, 8.3. There is still room for more art and writing. Prose poems and flash fiction and creative nonfiction, paintings, and drawings are particularly welcome.

Starting today, Star 82 Press will be considering manuscripts for our inaugural chapbook publication! One author or two-person collaboration will be chosen for a projected December 2020 release.
